Light Bright

Buying an old house in Florida means NO lighting or OLD lighting with minimal windows. It's scorching hot most of the year, so can you blame anybody for building houses that are dark? We probably couldn't afford the air bill if we had any more windows. All that to say that the lighting is key. It is one of the first things that needs to happen. Dark houses make me feel like I'm living in a cave. I don't like caves. I like the idea of quirky, interesting lighting that acts as another
art piece to look at. I also want something that is going to be bright and warm. These are some inspiring and interesting light fixtures that I found while searching the web.

I love the brass with the yellow I am thinking about for the kitchen.

We have the classic builder grade light fixture in one of our hallways. How fun is this thing?

I love the crystal. It's so neutral and sparkley.

WOW...Throw a map in a lamp! LOVE IT I like the idea of throwing new and interesting things inside when you get bored of the other things inside of the lamp.

Looking for Lovely

The title says it all. This is my search for all things lovely. Phil and I just purchased our very first house, and I have many little lovely ideas floating in my head and in random folders on his computer that have titles like "don't erase." I figured the best way to consolidate my ideas and save them from being deleted was through a blog... and so I begin.

Guest Bathroom Inspiration
Our bathroom is already this exact blue. I am usually not a fan of this color, but after stumbling across this picture, I suddenly am. I think I can get the look with switching some things around.
Living Room Inspiration-
I can't believe I found this picture. This is the picture I have in my head. This is the color palette floating in my head. I love the pattern on the chairs, but I think I could make it work through a rug? Where to find the rug?
I just thought this was a happy thing to look at. Why not?
Entryway Inspiration- I love the mismatch frames with circles and squares. I want to use this idea, but instead of frames, I want to use framed mirrors. Instead of having one mirror to greet people when they walk in, why not have a crazy little family of mirrors. Happiness.
This is the square family. I still prefer the circles and squares though.

Kitchen Inspiration- Focus on the yellow island. A yellow island in the kitchen? Crazy? yes Lovely? yes Happy? yes... Will it happen...yes
